Parking assistant option codes...?

Featured Replies

Hi all,

long time lurker, first time poster.

About to order a TSI Manual RS Hatch. I have come to gripes with all the options I want in, I only cannot understand the options for the parking assistant. Note the local dealer was not very helpful in explaining, so hopefully I can get an answer from here.

In the order sheet, there are two options:

7X2 - Intelligent Parking Assistance (rough translation)

7X5 - Parking Assistant for Automatic Parking (rough translation)

Now, I test drove a RS that, when put in reverse, showed this display on the headunit:

The "yellow path" for the vehicle changed as you would turn the wheel.

But, I could swear that that car, although it had the display above [albeit on a Columbus], did not have the wheel turn automatically.

So, could anyone here confirm, which is the option [7X2 or 7X5] that has the display from above? I really do not need automatic parking [with the steering wheel turning on its own] but I LOVED the display above.

Thanks!

7X2 should do the above.

If you have 7X5 it has side sensors too (so the screen shows the extra 'radar bars' down the side of the car).

Thanks JoseDB!

I noted in your signature you have "parking assistant" - is that 7X2 or 7X5? Also, if 7X5, do you "have" to use the assistant to self park or is it optional?

I have 7x5, so it parks itself. But I got it for the side sensors rather than the self park abilities (that's just a party trick!)

Well, for 200 EUR more, I can go ahead and add it as well. I've pretty much checked everything else on the order list.

But to be sure - you don't HAVE to use the self park? While it might be useful for the significant other, not so sure about me wanting to use it.

Yea, you have to press a button to choose to use it.

I've only used it once or twice to show off to friends as it's quite funny watching the car drive itself (and somewhat disconcerting!),

Much appreciated!

Now to decide between the black pearl and the race blue.

Hehehehe.

Black pearl with black pack ordered earlier this week. Albeit, hatch with Gemini Anthracite - the Xtremes would be too much for the local roads.

Now to wait for a build week announcement.
