Featured Replies

Hi everyone got a problem with my octavia elegance jumped in the other day and went to move away and nothing tried rev then drive nothing I noticed all the lights were flashing at the gear stick p,r,d,n,l put it back in park then drive and off it went. Same happened today put it in to the manual shift and of it went . It recently had the transmission fluid and filter changed by skoda around october November past and was driving pretty smoothly I think it's covered around 160.000 so was wondering if anybody had any ideas where to start looking.kind regards Jemmak

Which engine and gearbox?

It could either be a tiptronic (if it's a 1.6 FSI) or DSG box.

Sorry Phil I don't know what engine I'm sure it's 1978 cc if I remember correct has auto gearbox plus + - which I thought was tiptronic don't know much about autos hope this helps as I'm stumped the gearbox oil was changed along with filter a couple of months ago by the dealers and had been running fine until a few days ago but it drove okay yesterday upto 30 mph noticed engine managemnt light on could it be in limp home mode as it struggles after about 35 mph if you put the toe into it it dies a death. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Kind regards jemmak

If it's the 2.0 diesel then it's definitely the DSG.

I think it sounds like you have a couple of issues.

It does sound like it's going into limp mode but also that wouldn't be related to the gearbox issue.

The gear indicator flashing indicates a problem with the gearbox. It could just be a dodgy sensor or could be more serious.

The only real way to find out what's wrong is with a diagnostics scan of the engine and gearbox.

This will show any fault codes and hopefully try and pin-point the problem.

Phil
