vRS Boot Brace/Struts?

Featured Replies

Just a quick one.

Are there any hidden nuts/bolts etc... on the standard struts/braces fitted to the vRS hatches? It's just i might be spending the odd night in the back of the car and if it's just the few bolts i can see, it will be a fairly simple job to do and increase my comfort no end! haha

Any help (or tips for more comfort etc...) much appreciated!

IIRC it's just what you can see but from what i've head you may have to cut the bolts off as when you try and remove them people have found the they just spin and don't come out.

There's a guy who lives in his car in a layby near me, the Mrs kicked him out for a while.  He stores a motorbike in an old hot dog trailer and sleeps in his car, he was there again this morning, he looks a bit like Bill Bailey on a bad day.  I'll knock his window see if he's got any tips, someone of such local stature should be able to reveal something useful, if I can decipher what he says through the grunts and the snarls.

Anyway, I'd probably get one of those self inflating air-beds, get a table and take the legs down by 2/3, would come in handy for when you're entertaining.

Ok, good to know. I only really need one side to come out and there will be plenty of room.

I have a little wooden food tray thingy with folding legs, so that's the table sorted. lol All i need to find is a foam type cusion/insert to put in the boot, as there is a 2/3 inch drop and quite a ridge there between it and the rear seats when folded..

Yellowcar, thanks for the offer, but no need to risk it! lol

PHEW!!
