Featured Replies

Hi

I got an issue with my   octavia 04 1.6 petrol stick shift .

Sometimes when i start my car the esp light comes and stays on until i turn of the ignition .if i restart the car immediately the light normaly stays of .

noticed that the problem is more often when its a moist / damp weather type around - 0 to 6 pluss celsius .

i already changed my breaklight switch about 2 years ago

Sorry my poor english spelling .

The mention of cold damp weather makes me think of a connector issue. I can't think where there could be a connector that would do this and not affect the ABS other than around the dashboard ESR switch though.

Do you have VCDS? There may be related fault codes.

tried vcds and could not find anything , no error codes stored in memory.

Ok, I have no idea what could affect ESR and NOT ABS, and not throw fault codes. Best guess is a loose connector at the ESR switch.

Tried the torque app on my phone and it had an unconfirmed error p0335  crankshaft position sensor , could this be  the root to all mye trouble ?

Crank position sensor is how a modern EMS engine determines ignition timing. If that's actually faulty you should get one or more of lack of power, inability to rev to red line, poor fuel economy, poor starting, and rough running. I can't see why it would effect the ESR, which uses the ABS sensors to detect wheelspin, and trims throttle setting back if wheelspin is detected under acceleration.
