How can I tell??

Featured Replies

Hi, how can i tell whether my model is the 8v or 16v version.

Im driving an fabia 02 1.4 mpi. Ive checked all the books i got with it and couldnt find anything about what valve it is and looked on the website and couldnt find any info. Its my first car im driving so I have notihng to compare with it but it seems pretyt slow as my friends vauxhall astra 1.6 8 valve is a gd bit quicker. Is there anyway i can find out?

If its MPI - its 8v. The 16v is clearly badged on the boot as a 1.4 16v, and is 100bhp.

and for the 1.4 16v 100bhp has a red 16v

My Astra 1.6 8v was quite a slug, so it must be the 1.4 8v.

What have you insured it as?

Hi

Re sluggishness, my Fabia (not vRS) loses a lot of its Ooomph if I am going up a hill with the air conditioning on. Apparently this is normal. (I just move to the flatlands for the summer.) Have you done a test with and without air conditioning by any chance?
