problems with Bolero system.

Featured Replies

Hi all.

I've just bought a Yeti, very pleased with it apart from a small niggle with the Bolero CD, radio and aux system.

When I start the car, everything goes normally on the Bolero screen. The radio works perfectly.

However, in 'media' mode I have a problem.

There are four option boxes along the top of the screen : CD, SD CARD, AUX, BT.

I have a white line box around the Aux and BT option boxes, but nothing around the CD or SD option boxes.

The aux and bt options both work fine, I can play music via bluetooth from my phone with no problems at all.

No matter how hard I try, I cannot get the cd player to work. Touching the screen does nothing at all.

I have tried getting it to start via the cd load / unload button, but it's not accepting discs either.

Anyone got any ideas as to why the cd part of the unit won't work?

Like I said, everything else works fine.

This is the first time I've had a Bolero system, so am not sure of the ins and outs of it.

Any help and advice will be gratefully received.

It's a 6 disc in dash changer and i think you can't just push in cd's

Press the eject button, then it asks you to select a slot - i think you can then load.

SD card is the slot at the bottom - have you a card loaded? else it probably would be greyed out

(can't go and test as the car is with my wife, so the above all from memory - hope it's of some use)

Yes, it is a 6 disc in dash unit.

I'm 99% certain that there is a major fault with the programming in the unit.

If I try to load a cd, by pressing the eject button, the screen shows that there are 6 slots available but I do not get a message that says 'load cd'.

It is impossible to forcefully load a cd into the system.

Thanks for the welcome, btw.

Not sure what the previous owner did to the unit, but it's kind of annoying.

Should I bite the bullet and take it to a dealer to have a look at? Not sure if there is any warranty on the unit. :-(

Car's gone again, so can't check but....

When you get the slots displayed on the screen, I thought you pressed a slot (on the screen) and then it asks you to load (or ejects if it already has one loaded).

I don't tend to use it (as I have a 16gb sd card), but i do remember that it was less than obvious as to what you needed to do. Normally to load a cd you put it partially in the slot and push....

Do you have a manual for the unit? I downloaded one from the internet (pdf) if you can't find one, pm me your email address and I'll forward it to you (it's in english). Here's what it says about loading CDs:

. Press the button ^v.
.Choose the location 1....6 for storing the CD in the internal CD changer. Wait until “Please insert CD” is displayed.
. Push a CD with the written side facing up as far as possible into the CD case until it is automatically drawn in. The play function will start automatically

Hope it works, otherwise I'm stumped....

Hi,

I now have the same thing, apart from that the CD player DID!... used to work. It currently has 6 CDs stuck in there and suddenly im unable to press the CD option to play the music as it's greyed out as if there isn;t a CD player installed..... I'm not sure how this has happened but if anyone has a clue on a possible reset, maybe that would work?

I'd imagine the SD reader would work if one was plugged in with readable data.

All the best and ill let you know if anything is found, but if anyone has any ides, then greatly appreciated.

Pull the fuse to see if that helps.
