Looks like the stalk is defective. I wouldn't worry about the other codes.

so you would just say new stalk then? how do  know what part number ill need?

Search on here, it may be possible to clean it. Is it a pre FL car? If so I have posted the part number for the stalk on here before somewhere. Brand new one is about £60-70 IIRC.

According to this (http://wiki.ross-tech.com/wiki/index.php/00895) it may just be dirty contacts.

Quite common and full details of cleaning it are in the Octavia section on here.

I'd try that first.

I'd also clear all the fault codes and see if any come back. I bet the engine one will but will go after the CC stalk is sorted.

I don't think part number makes much difference in this instance. But do look at the images printed on it as these changed c.2010. Depends whether that bothers you or not.

i have cleaned the contacts and bent the pins to reposition them but still no joy. so i suppose i need a new stalk then i hve seem some on ebay for about £33 does any one know how much they are from skoda?

£60-70 as above. Possibly more.

I paid £25 for a used one two years back that worked fine. So £33 seems about right now.

There are cheap new ones on eBay for £30-40 but I think they can be of rather variable quality.

Can anyone tell me what cruise control from what cars will work in my octavia mk2 56 reg? As I wanna go to a scrap yard today and get a second hand one.

Well finally got the cruise control working.

Turns out it was the stalk got one for £33 off eBay brand new but not genuine one and it works. Anyone know if you can recon old ones at all??
