EGR deletion and short shifter options?

Featured Replies

I thought a post on her maybe better than under skoda octavia mk2 6.

I have got FL 140ps octavia scout 2010 2.0l you Can engine and had fault code P04030 yesterday.

Anyway I certainly don't want EGR woes again that I had with my passat 1.9 TDI and was looking at the EGR deletion kits, but have a few questions that couldn't seem to find the answers for on the posts that exist.

So I have a few questions for the forum:-

1.. In 2015 and with the MOT updates, is it still wise to delete the EGR valve ? Will it pass MOT?

2. Reading the posts 2013/ 2014 is seemed the EGR removal didn't affect the emissions much for MOT, but does the EGR removal cause issues with DPF in the long term ?

3. or does the DPF filter have to be removed , if the EGR has been removed ??

I know they possibly they look for the DPF in the MOT and people leave the basic DPF canister in situ , but does that mean the DPF is destroyed during this type of removal and a new one one need to be put i if ever caught out ???

Also I have been looking at short shifter posts and wondered if there is a forge or other supplier with a unit to fit the 6spd 2010 gearbox on my MkII scout , as it may assist with the gear change issues that I still feel are there :-( I am going to follow the VW shifter reset video first , but thought it maybe a good option for me also even though it aint a VRS. However all the ones online I have looked at seem to cover Mk1 up to 2006 , and I could not find a specific unit for the mkII ? I did read somewhere in a post, a guy with a VRS 2012 model fitted one , but had to grind it to make it fit, which isnt what I wanted to do,

Any guidance on the above appreciated.
