Satnavs

Featured Replies

I have had 2 satnav recently. One a new one that takes ages to aquire a GPS signal.

I haven't changed my car or the area I drive around.

Curious.  Can anyone suggest why it's happening

Thanks  AG

No idea but I've had similar issues with my Garmin. Used to get satellites almost straight away. Now i turn my car around and get to the end of the street before it finds a satellite.

Pavaotti, by any chance was the satnav that took a while to acquire a GPS signal a Tom Tom?

I had to use my TomTom Via 135 last week to go to a wedding in an out of the way place. It didn't pick up a signal for about 15-20 minutes. I put it down to having the combined TMC Receiver/charger plugged in.

I used the same satnav the week before for a trip up to Oban using a normal USB charger and it picked up the signal before I'd reversed out my parking space.
