Oh don't tell me that! It's the only worthwhile bit of Apple kit (in my view!) - maybe that explains the values!

Maybe I'll just sell the bits I have on for 'spares/repair' then to the masses on the bay of flea........

They were so expensive on ebay because they've stopped making them.

Knew they'd stopped, but that must mean they're old technology and worth nothing ;)

Got a 120gb one.

Any idea how much these would fetch, as it's basically sitting in a drawer.

Looks like I'm ebaying it then!

I've got an old knackered (think it's an 80gb) Classic that needs repairing ideally. I can't remember how I broke it, the usual case is I leave the iPod/iPhone on the roof of my car and drive away unknowing of any problem. It comes up with a symbol similar to a 'No Entry' road sign, I am told it is a problem with the main board?

I currently use a 30gb iPod video. Bulletproof. It's brilliant, can control it through jeans/pants so no need to get it out of my pocket to turn the volume up/down. Which, being a gardener and therefore having dirty hands most of the time, direct touch free controls is a big advantage. It goes as loud as you would ever need and the battery usually lasts at least a full day. Shame it's only 30gig though. Why have they stopped making the classics?

. Why have they stopped making the classics?

- because they couldn't find any ways to make it slightly better and cause everyone to think they need to upgrade to a new one ?

- because they want people to use a smaller  memory but more expensive item which can stream your library from the iCloud rather than keeping everything in an "offline" machine ?

Keeping you tied to iCloud keeps you trapped in the Apple ecosystem.

They really don't want you to control anything yourself without them. Same story for all the big companies.
