Crunching Noise from drivers side window Help

Featured Replies

Hi

Recently my drivers side window has started making a crunching noise. I think its the regulator and wanted to know if there's a repair kit i can use??

Usually the repair kit is replacing the regulator. Don't use the window unless you have to - when mine failed it left me with the window jammed half way open on a rainy Sunday night. Removing door cards for the first time in the rain with a head torch and mobile phone light to see by so I could wedge the window shut was no fun...

Should i buy a regulator from TPS? they quote me £107. Or is there a cheaper way?

Same thing happened to me, but the grinding only happened twice and then it was too late – window stuck down for 3 days until I could get it booked in and fixed.

Leave it up and get it fixed

if it wasn't bad enough with the window iv got new problem with the cooling fans. They turn on full blast when i turn the ignition on i was told theirs short in the wiring.

My regulator went about a month ago, fixed under warranty. When I took it in they had already ordered in the regulator and the motor, just in case. I'd suggest you do the same, and then return the unused item, as once you've got the door card off you'll just want to get the job finished.
