Don't know much about this technology, seems its now within the financial reach of home hobbyists and repairers. A must for Citroen owners !

A mate has one and is in the process of building a larger 3 pillar machine.

 

It takes ages to build anything and the finished article tends to look a bit "cracker toy". Though he's now using the original to build parts for a newer tripod style machine.

 

It's also possible to spend a bomb on software!

We are still at the "crystal radio" stage of this, give it a couple of years to mature and you will look back at today and smirk at how crap the early models were.

Not sure what the average person would actually use this for at home.

 

People with particular hobbies I'm sure could use it but not Joe Bloggs, not yet.

Why would you want to print with chocolate? Take it out of the packet and put it straight in your mouth - much quicker....

It's a hobby thing. Add CNC routing to the mix as there's a degree of crossover between them. On the non-hobby level, many different "print-heads" have been devised. Some use lasers, some sputter metal, some lay cement etc...
