I am trying to fit central locking to my car. I found a guide that said I needed to measure resistance on the lock circuit when activated which I have done. My multimeter in the 200 ohms range gave me 180 so off I went to maplins to get some resistors. I asked for 180 ohms but when I got back my multimeter says 1 in the 200 range which I think means open circuit. Its only when I switch the meter to 200k that I get 178.have I asked for the wrong ones? Thanks

Seems like they have given you a 180k ohm instead of 180 ohm.Take it back and change it.
