Is it possible to change locking via VCDS

Featured Replies

I have fitted central locking to the car today, I can only get the drivers door to work though. With the key in the door I turn it once to the right to open just my door and twice to open all doors. I have tried pressing the unlock button twice on the central locking fob but it doesn't work. There is a sound from all the other doors but they are still locked. Is it possible to change the door locking to a single key turn does all doors and hopefully fix the problem? I'm not sure if its some kind of deadlock or the likes. Thanks

You have changed the drivers door original locking system

Not sure what you mean, when I bought the car it always needed to be turned twice to the right to unlock all doors. With the key in the door that still works as it always did. Its just the central locking I need to get sorted now so that it opens all the doors.

You can change the settings in MaxiDot if you've got it. Mine was originally set for one button press or key turn to open all doors, but I changed it to one press for drivers door and two for the others.

I don't have maxidot unfortunately, I don't even have a fuel computer. I really wish I'd held out for a better spec car now but I wanted the combi and this was the only one available in my budget hence the diy central locking bodge. I hate looking at everyone's toys, half expecting to find out my engine is a cardboard cutout :)
