Front suspension upgrade help.

Featured Replies

I've got a dodgey front wheel bearing on my mk1 vrs so thought I'd take this opportunity to upgrade the front suspension but despite a couple of days Trawling this and other forums I'm still left a wee bit confused as to what hubs I need.

I have managed to gather that lcr or s3 wishbones will replace the pressed steel wishbones and allow the fitting of caster correct bushings but will otherwise keep the geometry stock (unless fitting mk1 tt ball joints which will allow for camber adjustment). Fitting tt wishbones will do all of the above will increase the minimum and maximum camber as the wishbones are slightly longer. Correct me if I'm wrong with any of this?

Now hubs, I understand that its best to get hubs from either a LCR or fwd tt as these have the same shaft ends as the vrs but is there a geometrical differance in the 2 hubs?

Also is it only the r32 that came with the r32 front anti roll bar?

Cheers

Meant to type 23mm roll bar at the bottom nit r32 twice...

You need the TT balljoint to fit the cast arms - not really optional

slotted for +/- camber adjustment

The LCR/FWD TT hubs are needed, along with all the other will mean different geometry to a standard Octavia, and will need to setup accordingly

The whole purpose of the conversion is to ditch the standard geometry and get the better setup of LCR's/TT's

I understand the purpose of doing it also that the alignment will need to be set after fitting. The question is LCR and tt hubs the same?

Hubs are the same, I got R32 hubs bolt end, put new hub flange on to convert to nut end, to go with the new bearings.
