Modding game

Featured Replies

Ok a little bit of fun but I've put it here as only interested in Octy's. (Mods feel free to move it if not appropriate)

If money was no object what mods would you do?

Rules are:

1. Has to be work your able to do yourself, so no parting work out to get a company to fit V12's.

2. You have to modify the Octy, even though some wouldn't keep their Octy if they won Lottery etc.

3. Has to be realistic so if a spitfire engine won't fit in they engine bay you can't say you'd do it.

Quite simply just upgrade everything on the car suspension components/bushes, all mounts, Chase as much power from the engine as possible and big brake upgrade to stop it afterwards. It would take hours to list every individual item, so t.hat's the closest

If I have to do the work and be able to do it then I have achieved it already.

Money no object, fitted wind deflectors.

The limit of my technical prowess I'm afraid!

I'd like to try and drop in a 2.5 TFSI with uprated internals then twin turbo it. (Mines a puppy of a 1.6)

Have it on airbags

Fully dynamat the inside.

F/L front end,

Mk3 dash and interior,

Remote open and close hatch.

I'd like a fuel computer... Living the dream

Replace the axles with ones from a 4x4 Octy (yes, it needs alot of welding and custom fitting, but i've done the job on an Audi 80 so i'ts doable)

Replace most engine components inc. turbo to get 300+ hp

KW shocks coilover kit

Brembo drilled discs + good pads and probably better/bigger supports. (The first part - brembo discs and pads im gonna do anyway in a couple of months)

and add a very loud soundsystem (currently on about 1200 W RMS total system, would install something like 2500W RMS)

Aand that would be my perfect Octy VRS SS

As said before replace most/all of standard parts with updated bits

I pretty much did everything i wanted to my current vRS, mostly related to chassis/brakes etc with some retrofits.   Theres a full list of the mods i did if you follow the link in my sig to my PH blog.

Money no object i'd have had added K04 converstion also, so 330ish bhp.  For me that woudl have been the perfect octavia... only reason i didn't do the engine mods was financial (and warranty risk).

I'd go for full polybushing, DTUK tuning, air ride (Sheffield roads are made of craters!), better RARB, set of team dynamics pro race 1.2s, Bluetooth, MFSW, polar fis+ maxidot upgrade, one of those cool LCD liquid OBD2 gauges, darkest legal tints possible and finally HIDs.

Meant to add R32 brakes to that.
