Car key help please!

Recommended Posts

Hey guys the light on my key constantly stays on why is this?

It's hard to explain

But when I unlock/lock my car a wee red light flashes on my key but now it's been on for the last half hour and and my center locking ain't working any ideas?

Thanks in advance

Kieran

Make sure all the push switches feel similar. One might be stuck/broke. Maybe try changing the battery. If it's bust, a new "back end" is under £25 on eBay. If you have a spare key, you can code it to the alarm yourself.

Thanks for quick reply all the buttons are pushing fine? So does this mean it just needs a new battery?

Nope. It means you take it apart and have a look at it.

My original decided to give up "the other way". i.e. LED never came on. I tried a few things but couldn't get it to work so ended up buying a new backend off eBay.

Thanks for reply, Well I've took it apart and nothing is wrong with the chip as soon as I lifted the chip away from the battery of course the led went off and when I put the chip back on the battery the led never came on again and my central locking. Still doesn't work so I guess I'll have to buy a new chip anyone got a link to one for a flip key?
