cheers mike. least it's 1 route I can look down.

Wife's sister went the other way, imported a Land Rover Evoke from the UK to Portugal. British Spec, left hand drive but on British plates.

It entered Portugal Via Gibralter.  Cheaper than buying a Evoke in Portugal.

What about going down the broker route.

All the Skoda dealers more or less told me they didn't have to offer a discount as they could sell every Octy II Scout they could get their hands on.

Went to a broker and got about £4.5k off list. Picked it up from a Skoda dealer, still got the 3 year Skoda warranty, (You only get a 2 year warranty on the continent), still got 3 years European breakdown cover.

If buying new again, would seriously consider the broker route.

well the first thing is pound to euro, then factor in the vat and car tax, also transport if you are or are not,  picking it up,   delivery has the benefit of being insured ON the boat otherwise it may not be covered,   I think the extra cost of rt hand drive was approx. £350 but that was nearly 12 years ago    from main SEAT  dealer in Holland delivered to the door saved approx. 25%   still have the car
