so after reading around here and a weekend on bad roads with a heavy bike carrier on the towball, I ordered up a set of mad spring assisters. 

 

so my question is this: 

 

it looks relatively straightforward to pop these in, but I want to check that i don't have it wrong. 

 

from reading around, once you have the car on a lift, its pop off the bolt on the bottom of the shock, the spring should drop out without a spring compressor, add in the assister, and then pop back in the spring, do up the bolt and off you go. 

 

do you need a jack to get the spring back in, or the shock lined back up?

 

or do I have this totally wrong

I fitted a set of grayston inner coil spring assistors and one important thing that the grayston fitting instructions told me is that as my car is the Elegance spec, which I see yours is too, there is a headlight levelling linkage that connects to the back 'axle' this has to be clipped off before dropping the link bolt. I would imagine that when your kit arrives hopefully this will be shown in your fitting instructions.

so all arrived today - nope - basically only mentions to support the lower arm as you pull the bolt. 

 

to I'm away for a week or so but will stick it on a ramp when I get back and get them in and will report back
