Yep, makes sense, thank you.

Now for part two of my cunning plan.

Pop Corn Ordered, Alarm set

It is 51, and it will be written/cast on the back of the wheel.

What's this plan then?  Don't be shy

The cunning plan is a different set of wheels.

Just wanted to check the existing offset as the ones I'm looking at have ET45 so should sit out a little further and hopefully will look pretty good.

There are a few options I'm looking at but faves at the moment are the lookalike Audi 'Rotor' style in gunmetal.

I fancied wheels like that since I found a pic of the proposed vRS 280 on the interweb which was wearing black and red ones.

Might still need some spacers on the rear to get rid of the sticky in too far rear wheel appearance.

Presumably those rotors will be 8J width? So ½" wider than the 7.5 j Gemini, which will bring the outer edge another 6.5mm further out. They will still fit fine, I've read on here of someone with 8.5j et41_iirc squeezed on the O3.

Didn't consider the extra width of the wheel itself, thank you. It should still be ok with 225/40s?

Should be, my winter alloys are 8j, and have 225/40 no issues

Hi Matt, cheers fella, you've caught up with my protracted ramblings! :)

Yes 225 is the recommended size for 8j, it's the maximum width for 7.5 ( according to tyre leader)

Cool, thank you.

The seller does wheel / tyre packages but the tyres are BCT 800s which don't appear much good so might just get the rims.

We're getting there buddy!

When I was young (here we go), you just slung some different wheels on, job done, didn't give a damn providing the stud spacing was ok. These days it's a lot more scientific, and expensive.

How I wish I had kept my Opel Manta....

Just go for it! Life is for living :)
