Morons behind the wheel...

Featured Replies

Damned caravans.

Now you know why the Isle of Man does not allow them in.

Having said that, the dickheads do not need a caravan to to tow to to be a dickhead.

How did the driver think that he would get past the lorry at the end of the overtaking lane? What an eejit *facepalm*

As I wrote, no comment lol.

One can afford to be impatient provided there is circa 500bhp on tap and overtaking is not something that needs miles of preparation :).

Overtaking while towing... not an expert at towing but when you drag your holiday home behind you why hurry? Nature is our greatest teacher - snails do not hurry!

So far, since Tuesday I've seen...

A caravan being towed at around 80mph in lane 3 by a swb discovery that was bouncing around like 2 hippos were having a shag in the back (M5) - I honestly thought it was going over more than once and was properly tailgating people to get them out of the way.

A small hatch with 3 bikes on the back, with no light board but a spare plate gaffa taped to the bikes vertically (M5).

An old Clio in Bristol with very little exhaust left, towing a small trailer with all sorts rested on top (really just rested - nothing was tied down) with no plates or lights on the trailer.

About a 1/4 mile of traffic in the middle lane with nothing in lane 1 (apart from me...).

Caravan drivers are usually brilliant - a bit slow but very safe and observant in my experience.  This week has been a roll over for stupid apparently...

Don't forget all the past-their-sell-by-date, thoroughly overloaded tradesmens' vehicles operating increasingly in London and its outer suburbs.

Never a traffic cop in-sight.

The phrase "Not a convenient action politically, so head kept firmly below the parapet " comes to mind.

Had similar the other week on the way to Whitby - Disco with a 3axle car trailer (empty) in the outside lane doing 85+ :@

What was he thinking unbelievable.

Absolutely mental - no way he was ever getting through that gap (would have been tight even with the car itself never mind the caravan)

Not limited to London.

It is a lot easier (and cheaper) to erect a camera that will only catch one motoring offence than to pay for an officer who will catch speeding, driving while operating a mobile phone, drink driving, careless driving, no insurance/mot/tax, non roadworthy vehicles etc. I drive minimum 50 miles a day on Mway, A & B class roads and I reckon I can go 2-3 weeks without seeing any traffic cars (the only reason I usually see a car the 4th week is that the Mway I use is a training run for advanced drivers with Police Scotland at Tulliallan)

Put more traffic officers out there ,catch more offences and people will pay more attention to their driving if they think there is a chance of getting caught.

Oh dear. Even Top Gear couldn't match that for stupidity.

Nope, even them would struggle :D.

I think it would be much cheaper to make the driving license much, much harder to get with far more extensive tests and this way by producing a much better skilled drivers greatly limit the amount of accidents and moronism on the roads.

Sadly, there is no cure for stupidity and there will always be people like that half wit towing a caravan!
