Car coding questions

Featured Replies

Hi,

Can a 2010 Fabia be coded so that the lights can be left in the on position but switch off automatically when the key from the ignition is removed?

We had this on our Ceed and my wife liked the fact she didn't have to worry about it. I have it on my Superb (Auto lights) and halfway with my old Octavia.

If it can be done, is it the sidelights you always want to come on, or sidelights & dipped Beams.?

Do you want the car running all the time day light/ daytime with the Side Lights or Sidelights & Dipped Beam on,

because there will be no way to switch them off.

? Can your wife not Switch on the appropriate lights for the conditions, daytime, night time, it is not really a worry.

or how about fitting Day Time / Day Light Running lights to the car?

Got DRLS but I'd rather just run the dipped beams all the time so got fr and rr lights on. I don't like DRLs as they only run have fr lights on.

Some Fabia can be Coded so that the Rear Tail Lights are on with the DRL's at the front.

Obviously it will not only be Front Dipped on, but also the Sidelights,

on the Kia, Hyundai and others, the Sidelights, or Sidelights and Dipped go out and come back on as you left them as

you switch off.

Winter time you arr starting a car with Headlights on, so good battery usually required.

I have an old Volvo which runs all the time with Dipped Dim Front Headlights on & rear lights, (not many of us around)

now that the brighter weather is here, people must think i am trying to look like i am pretending i have DRL's.

I'd completely forgotten about this topic.

I now have (on its way) VCDS so would like to do this. Can you perhaps point me in the direction to have the dipped (and sidelights) and rear lights on all the time please?

Thanks

Sorry but no idea how, it is all magic to me.

i have DRL's inhibited by switching them off with the switch,

& I turn on my Dipped Beam manually all the time and that gives me Front & Rear Sidelights and Dipped Headlights which go onto Full beam with the use of the Headlight Stalk.

It is my KISS way to have it on a Fabia.

Anyone can jump into drive, and the light switch has 3 positions, off, sidelights, headlights if they want lights on,

Stalk Flashes headlights or changes, dipped or full beam.

Works well IMO.

Iirc its under 'cent electrics'.

Save the copy the long code first, then click long code helper and look through the bytes. Off the top of my head, i think its in '09 cent electrics' but it might be somewhere else.

Ill have a look if you cant find it.
