Out of curiousity, am I right in thinking the OEM rubber brake lines around the calipers have braiding in them, kevlar or summat similar, so there's not much point in changing to lovely, silvery full on braided hoses apart from the look of them?

I could be wrong tho!! I have just taken delivery of some new stainless hoses to go along with new mtec discs and pads as a full brake overhaul is needed

Noticed the Monkhai mentions it as well and from memory he's not too bad at knowing stuff??

Yeah, see I was considering changing them for braided when I next change the fluid but just wondering if there's any point. :S

 

Perhaps they're PTFE lined??... (yes, I know it's a Mk1)

I think it's fabric reinforced or nothing at all - just thick rubber.
