smoke after been sat over night.

Featured Replies

Recently after being sat for a good few hours mainly overnite. I'll start the car and for a few seconds it'll sound if though it's running on 3 cylinders and smoke will come from the exhaust but sounds normal after a few seconds. Then it'll run normal and will start fine everytime fine until it's been sat doing nothing for a fair few hours. So far I've change injector seals. Any ideas.

There are lot's and lot's of cold starting / rough running / lumpy idle threads on the PD170 in the vRS.

They are mainly related to the injector recall and DPF issues.

Colour of smoke?:-

  1. White/grey - weak or dead glowplugs.
  2. Black - leaky injector(s).
  3. Blue - oil, probably leaking through valve stem oil seals.

dpf gone, stage 1 and injector seals replaced. Bluey white smoke.
