Hi there! Last week I received my new Octavia. Really nice car!

 

I have one question about ParkPilot. Default the beep sound is on. I hate this annoying sound every time I drive out of my garage. It is possible to turn off the beeping with pressing the button named: "Switching on/off the acoustic parking aid". But the next time I sit in my car it is resetted to beep again.

 

Is it possible to reverse it? I want the car to remember the "no beep" button. If I want the sound I can turn it on.

 

 

You can adjust the pitch but not sure about the volume.  Have you been through the infotainment settings?

I would leave it on.  The other day at work I parked in my normal place and when I went to leave for home I backed out and there was a truck behind and to the left of me that I did not see (I was in a hurry).  The warning beeps saved me from backing into the truck.  When I heard the beep I slammed on the brakes and was on about 30cm from hitting the truck.

It´s possible to adjust the pitch and the volume but not down to silence.

I've gotten used to just hitting the mute button on the touch screen every time I back out of my garage, but I have to admit I'd love to be able to mute it while in the garage automatically...but then again I prefer having it on when not at home, so I guess it would be technically challenging to implement. (Not impossible though, it could be tied into GPS location data...)
