Front end Removal

Featured Replies

Just bought a 55 plate bkc engined octavia estate mk2, its solely been bought as a donor vehicle as it was cheaper than buying a engine and turbo seperately,

As it's an elegance model I'm stealing some goodies for my ambiente, ie, cruise, auto dimming mirror and the foglight wiring, maybe other bits too, it also has maxidot but I've already paid for this upgrade so this will be sold on.

I need to remove the engine as it's going in a friends a3, what is the best way? from looking underneath there appears to be a lot of room underneath between the subframes, but I was kind of hoping the easiest way would be stripping the front end and bringing it out the front?

Strip the front end & bring it out the front

As it's a donor car, just wondering if it's got the front and rear parking sensors?

Does the donor car have a sunroof mate?

The donor has rear parking sensors but its a elegance so gonna check the module see if its a better one than mine and if so ill be having that too, it doesnt have a sunroof, ill be making a start on the removal of the a3 engine tomorrow, and then hopefully tuesday get the octy one out also,

gonna scan it for any codes first to make sure no sensors are duff if so ill swap them out,

Anyone know if the 1.9 and 2.0 share same intake flap motor? if so ill be having that too for my bkd  :D

cheers for the replys

Is there any chance I could have the buzzer that makes the noise for the sensors, it's located behind the passenger b pillar?

Sorry for the completely useless comment and not just because its the wrong car but I was shown this recently:
