Anyone with nexus 6 and octy iii?

Featured Replies

Hello. Love my Octavia but have a question. Bought a new phone a month ago, the nexus 6. When it connects to the Amundsen when I leave for work in the morning the music starts to play and the track seconds starts moving along but no sound comes out. So I just skip the track back the the beginning using the steering wheel then it starts playing fine. It also works ok when I leave work about 10 hours later. I don't understand why it doesn't work in the morning at home but works later on in the day at work.

This is using Google music. I have tried deleting and reconnecting the device to no avail. Another thing I tried is pausing the playback for so many seconds while it connects using an app called trigger but no matter what setting I use it tries to start playing. I thought there would be an option to stop/start playing the music automatically when connecting to Bluetooth but there isn't one on the head unit or my phone. Not really the end of the world but just a bit weird.

I have a nexus 6 but columbus. It automatically start playing using Google music whenever it connects

Snet with speeling mistkaes from my phoen

I have the nexus 6 & columbus, & do not use Google music, & never had this issue, the Nexus 6 connects no issue & no auto start music start.

I would suggest stopping / disable Google music & see if this resolves the issue.

I do not stream any music via Bluetooth through the Columbus as it has more than enough HDD space to store whatever music i want, along with the drain on the battery or having the phone plugged in to keep it charged.

I have a nexus 5 and Columbus and it plays fine through goggle play or Spotify but I usually use my iPod as I hit a 4 mile signal deadspot on the way to work.

I have a nexus 6 on order so will let you know if it changes anything...

Thanks for the replies. Wonder if it's an amundsen thing.

@ tigermad,  possibly not as Greg R has same auto play on his columbus, suggest you take a very close look at google play 1st.

@ V6Jules, - you dont say what version of android the 5 has, specially as the 6 will come with 5.1, which appears quite different to 5.0.2.

Its a nexus! Has had 5.1 for some time although I hear 5.1.1 is coming shortly. Isn't that one of the reasons we like nexus phones as they get the latest versions of android before anything else and normally even the old models like my standby nexus 4 get it as soon as its released.

As I said though if I find any differences in the way the car handles the 5 to the 6 I will let you know

Maybe on the same subject - I have a nexus 5 that connects fine via Bluetooth for making phone calls. However, when I select Bluetooth from the media player it says it can't find any music on my phone. Do my music files need to be in a certain folder or is it expecting a specific app?

Update. Poweramp and deezer work fine so it seems to be a Google music issue. Have download an app where you tell it what music player you want to start when it connects to Bluetooth. Will try it tomorrow.

Got my nexus 6 now and it appears to work completely fine. Into car, connects and just starts playing whatever I was last listening

Thanks Jules. Nexus on 5.1? Wish someone with the same car and and Amundsen could try it. Guess it's just a weird glitch

Nexus is running 5.1 I just realised It was working in the evening not first thing in the morning which is when you had the issue. I will check it again tomorrow morning for you

I've also noticed there is a Bluetooth update available for my Columbus along with new maps so I wonder if this will affect it
