Limited Editions?

Featured Replies

Basically are they worth it, as in come resale time in say 5 or 10 years time?

My mate has a spanking 25th Ltd edition golf and its now getting on a bit but not sure its increased in value as a Ltd edition.

Was looking at 208gti Ltd Edition in red (only 5 in that colour in uk). Only 100 from 800 coming to uk. So will it plummet like any other or will it ever get to a point were the Ltd plays any part in an increase over a similar age 208gti std car?

Is it costing more than a standard car or is it a limited edition where they chuck in a load of extras for not much more than the standard version?

As above; my "limited edition" ZX Elation cost £200 more than the base model ZX, but came with £1500 of factory and dealer options, and colour matched sports bumpers which you couldn't get on a 1.4 any other way. "LE" is in quotes because the total run was limited to 10_000 cars.

I would not worry about residuals in 5-10 years of a car bought in 2015.

Just buy what you like to enjoy & live with and get value from now.

Any Major Manufacturers euro 5 / 6 Emissions car is liable to be just a 10 year old car in 10 years,

unless you can judge what is a future Classic & you buy Free Motoring.

I can not see that being a 180-220 ps or so Hot Hatch @ around £20,000 being sold in the UK now.

If it costs less than £2,000 over 10 Years & is still worth money then that is a winner IMO.

If it's just trim options then no it doesn't really make a difference. If the trim options re big ones like leather or xenons then you'll get a bit more but just the same as any other model with the same options.

If it's performance upgrades like the 30th anniversary GTI then they are worth a fair bit more then the standard car.

Depends if its a corsa LE or not

Depends if its a corsa LE or not

Standard versions are rarer!!....
