VRS brakes

Featured Replies

Apologies if this is covered somewhere else but I couldn't find it.

I've got a 2011 Octavia 2.0 CR VRS.

I wanted to take advantage of Euro car parts BH sale and order all new brake discs and pads ... But I haven't been able to definitively figure out which of the countless different sized brakes on sale I need for the front & rear.

Can anyone clarify?

The fronts are 312mm rotors.  The pads are interchangeable between 288mm & 312mm.

You'll need your PR code for the rears.  It's on the build sticker in the boot or the first page of the Service Book.  Alternatively you can pull a wheel off & the diameter should be stamped on the rotor hat.  Or you could measure it but IIRC there is only 3mm difference between some rotors so you need to be really accurate.

You might need to know your caliper type.  This shows the 2 types

rear should be 282mm

My '12 CR VRS has 272mm rears. I could only find them listed for the golf.

Cheers for your help ... Was finding the differences in sizes (particularly for the rears) very confusing.

Good tip on checking the service book part code though so hopefully ive ordered the right ones now!

ur 2011 vrs should have 272mm rear rotors.

check the build codes, if u have one labelled "1KT", you have the 272 mm version.

PR Code Disc Size Notes Thickness
1KD 255mm Pre-FL New: 10mm Min: 8mm
1KD 253mm FL New: 10mm Min: 8mm
1KF 260mm Pre-FL New: 12mm Min: 10mm
1KF 256mm FL New: 12mm Min: 10mm
