Opinions please

Featured Replies

Hello all i used to have an 06 octy vrs many moons ago but sold that for boring house buisness. We currently have a cheap focus estate for family business but would like to upgrade to something a little nicer.

Could i ask your opinions on this one -

It has full service history mostly franchise dealership.

Its a local mazda dealership selling the car.

Nice car seems a bit pricey to me but you may get that down .These 1.8tsi engines are not as economical as people think and no sat nav I would wait for another vrs estate if I were you . Only my opinion I had a vrs  before the fabia and as you know very good car/engine but will have done more miles for price.

Can't really tell if it's a good car or not just from the advert & photos.

It's probably not going to be much cheaper to run than a VRS and will probably depreciate and be harder to sell than a VRS.

That footwell looks very scuffed up for a genuine 60_000 miles. At the same mileage (well 5k more actually) my A4 was "as new".

Thanks for the comments lads. Went to see the car this evening and pleased to say it was very tidy. No real dents or scratches to moan about, the tyres were all very good condition, interior was good condition with no rub marks or creases to the leather.

It's up for £5490 and is due a service in June so I'm going to push for £5k including the service. Would that be a good price to pay ?

Have a read up regarding issues with both excessive oil consumption and timing chain issues.

should have mentioned - Ive had x2 1.8 TSi's - surprisingly quick, quiet and smooth. Reasonably economical, but early ones known to suffer mechanical issues (as above).

I have the current 1,8TSI 4x4. And Im loving it. Its not that thirsty, but not really economical either.

Its reasonably fast and quiet.

Around town it drinks about 9l/100km. Hoping that will improve a bit as the engine is run in.
