My 1.4 tdi pd is booked in for its service next week. It a 59 plate with 49,000 miles on the clock

Is got few jobs to be looked into and I was wondering whether the engine Coolant could do with a change?

Is there a recommended interval change, or is it dependent on its 'strength' which I know can be tested.

It's definitely never been changed since the car was new. Cambelt was changed 18 months ago however the water pump was not changed, as at the time it was sitting on just 25,000 miles; thus no Coolant change.

There is no age or mileage limit for the coolant.

 

It should be periodically tested and only changed when it's no longer "strong enough".

i thought it was recommended change at 5 years or was that the G12+

What he says! There is no recommended time or mileage limit for G12 or G13. It's pretty robust stuff.
