VCDS Error 01334 - right rear door not locking or window opening

Featured Replies

Hi All,

Just as I was about to leave on a 2 week business trip to Thailand, the right rear door has decided to play up. I've done a scan with Carista and get a VCDS 01334 error on right rear. The door isn't locking and the window isn't working from either the fr or rr switches. The puddle light in the bottom of the door works as expected (off door shut and on when open).

I also get this:

CAN network gateway:

01334 - Door Control Module: Rear Right (J398)

At the moment the door is deadlocked shut but I need to sort it out. I have ordered a door ECU off eBay to arrive for when I get back to try. I need to check the wiring between the door and the B-pillar but I can't work out how the hell I remove the rubber joint to check it! Is there a guide to removing the door card with pictures for the rear doors anywhere?

Thanks

If the door is deadlocked shut I'm not sure whether it's possible to take the door card off at all :(.

I had this same problem. The only difference was that the door was unlocked!! A visit to the dealer and some head scratching later...the error in the rear door was a failure in the main door control unit in the FRONT drivers door. Not too expensive to fix, besides the parts.  I didn't get any alarm, or warning in Maxidot when the door was opened.

I hope you are lucky and it's only the rear door causing grief. Good Luck.

Just to follow this up as I've fixed it today. First I tried swapping the ECU and no dice. So started buzzing out cables through the door (those rubber boots are a ******!) And all checked out ok. Moved to the front drivers door and pulled the loom through and straight away saw a small broken green cable. I have soldered in a small piece of repair wire in. Many thanks to the wife for holding the boot out of the way whilst I soldered. It's tight in there but I did get it done. Voila it's all working! Thanks for the hints and tip s

Thanks for the follow up. Glad to hear it's all sorted.
