Service List

Featured Replies

Does anyone have a copy of the sheet detailing what has to be done at each service on them?

My car's at Skoda now with the service book, so I can't check.

And in particular, does the 20k service include changing the brake fluid?

Cheers,

Yes.In front of me.

It says for 20k "Brake fluid level:inspect;top up according to brake wear"

Yes.In front of me.

So it's a top up' date=' not a whole change?

Just had my 20K done at JBS yesterday (good work, thanks!) and due to a faulty reverse light switch they found I've taken it to Skoda to change under warranty. Skoda are now asking if the Brake fluid was changed as [i']it was due at the last service[/i].

Not sure if they are going to try and get me to change the fluid because I need to, or because they may be a little bitter that I went elsewhere for a almost 100 quid cheaper service.

Had golfturbo's brakes fitted to the front, and needed new discs and pads at the back due to some problems. I assume if JBS would have topped up a little, at least, to do this. Or would people advise I change it all?

Thats all it says I'm afraid, so I presume thats all you get?

Just got the car, and checked a Skoda Service checklist:

Changing Brake Fluid: Every 2 years in combination with Annual Inspection

Methinks I need to call JBS.

Thanks for the help!

I stand corrected.Right at the very top of the form there are four blank boxes none of which are ticked which say

[]Inspection service on variable service display

[]Fixed mileage Inspection Service

[]Additional operations only (without Inspection Service)

[]Change brake fluid;every 2 years regardless of mileage.

They look like options for the tech to 'tick'.They are totally seperate to the listed things to do

I'm confused now :o

Well had a chat to Sarah, and apparantly that fluid was changed and she just ticked the wrong box.

So all is good again.

Skoda did my 10k (annual) service and haven't ticked the 'Annual Inspection' or 'Oil change Service' boxes at the top of the sheet, so I don't see how they can moan about JBS to be honest :D
