Lucky Me?

Featured Replies

Popped into my local Skoda dealer on Friday last and came away having ordered a new Yeti, delivery estimated 20th June (this year!!). Is this some sort of record I ask myself?

Congratulations.
What have you ordered?

...but the colour seems to have disappeared from the latest catalogue!

Not really, it’s obviously a car from stock, or at least one that has been built and waiting to be shipped to the UK, it can happen... but usually if you do not spec any (or many) optional extra’s.

That explains it..no factory extras as such except for flaps/mats.

You certainly dropped lucky that one in your colour and trim level had been pre ordered, you never know you might even have an option or two that you didn’t order fitted.

Great not having to wait long!

Did your dealer talk you through the differences between the old Elegance and new SE L model? Ordering a new MY16 car would likely push delivery back to August, but would have got the new EU6 engine. The new 1.2 TSI 110PS DSG is 128g CO2, band D, 0-62 11.4s whereas the old version is 147g, band F, 0-62 11.7s?

The dealer originally priced my px 3 months down-the line, but when the 3-week wait one appeared he adjusted the px to a higher price effectively compensating for 8-years of fuel saving with the new engine - we'll probably only keep it for 3 years! If lower emissions of the new engine mean less road tax then we are not affected due to paying zero road tax because of disability. Interestingly, my deposit paid receipt quotes 110ps engine!

Forgot to mention spare wheel ordered as well as raised boot floor but I guess this can be added later.

Mine was effectively available on site as unsold stock and at £15K not to be passed up.

I'd previously bought a Fabia but I realised pretty soon that I wasn't entirely happy with it - I'd hung my nose over a Yeti when buying it but convinced myself that I couldn't justify the cost. Anyway, I found myself driving past our Skoda dealers one day as you do, and I thought, "well while I'm here, I'll just pop in -just to have a look that's all". The Yeti Black Edition was standing in the showroom and I took delivery of it the next day  . The only thing that was 'missing' that I would otherwise have considered was leather seats but it's got everything that I would have chosen really. I wouldn't have chosen black but I'm happy enough with it. I've just given it a rinse and squirt of detailer and tucked it back up in the garage. We bought a Citigo for the boss a few weeks ago and that's now become the everyday workhorse. I like it that way because every few days I get into my Yeti and really appreciate the extra comfort.

p.s. If I were doing it again I would go with the "Alcantara" upholstery, if I could, now I've read the thread on that.

I have a 10 year old Fabia that is the best car that I've had.

I had a 6 month old Fabia as a courtesy car last week while my Yeti was in for the day and it showed just how good the Yeti is :sun:

My only slight gripe on test was that I could feel, what seemed to be, every little road surface fault through the seat. This may be because I'm used to the softer suspension of the Duster and Patriot. It certainly wasn't a deal breaker, but it was evident. Does the 2wd Yeti have the same suspension as 4wd, or petrol vs. diesel?

not including the weekend we ordered it (sat pm) we  waited 9 days for our 15 plate Yeti Elegance from order, was well chuffed with the quick turnaround on it :)

Mines been on order for two weeks, build is week 22, so delivery about 3-4 weeks from that. You did well!

I got my 1.2 elegance with sunroof in platinum grey in just over a week. Same as yours it had been built and was waiting for a good home.
