Haldex oil and filter

Featured Replies

I have a Skoda Octavia Scout 2.0l TDI 140hk (103kw) 2010 and it has been going 120 000 km and is now going up for its second oil change on the haldex unit.

When i talked to our dealer today they are claiming that there is no filter on this unit, only oil change.

Their mechanic said that it depends on which generation of Haldex if there is a filter or not.

Can anyone confirm that this is the case?

If its only oil change then i might save me some money and do it myself.  :notme:

Correct - I had this on my old Passat TDI 4motion; but this is going back to a 2004 plate.

The Service manual gave the impression the diesel was same as the petrol for Haldex; but this was not the case.

Sweet, now i just have to figure out if i want to do it myself or not.

They didn't charge that much to change it, but when it is just drain and fill then i understand why. :-)

Be very careful if attempting to change Haldex oil yourself. The drain and re fill points for the Haldex and the rear diff are very close together, and easily mixed up.

Thanks for the heads up :-)

I will probably leave the haldex oil change to the vw dealer and do the normal service my self.
