1st service due

Featured Replies

Service light on, car has done 5700 miles and 14 months old so never had a service so far, what prices has anyone paid for first service? I'm quoted £139 and only thing done is an oil change and new filter plus top up coolant and window washer bottle, seems a bit steep on a small car? I know everyone has to make a living but it's still an expensive oil change.

Shop around. You should be able to get it in at below £100.

Mine was £104-00 at A.Lawries.

So little car needs just little servicing? And service guy needs just a little money? No. ;-)

£44 for a service in Rotherham with a Groupon voucher. I paid extra for a genuine Skoda oil filter to maintain warranty requirements. Douglas Paul Motors.

My Skoda dealer quoted £139 too and when I said that people on here were charged under a hundred...the reply was " OK...will £90 be acceptable?" So, a little "haggling" may be called for. Incidentally, they did software updates too and arranged for the control unit for the engine cooling fan to be replaced....things that a non-Skoda garage will know nothing about.

mine was free in a package, but listed as well over £100. having looked at what they did on the sheet, its an hours work tops, but you do get a few service patches (non dangerous recalls) as well.

The parts is minimal, oil, filter. lots of checks. clean the rear drums.

A local could do the lot for £50 easy.
