Android to MHL to RCA

Featured Replies

Ok going to have to bear with me here, I'm not a tech expert.

Basically have a pioneer Headunit with a av composite cable input that I want to mirror the screen of my Z3 compact onto to use the phones satnav.

My only option appeared to be to use a MHL cable and then plug it into one of these "Mini Hdmi2av" white converter boxes.

The first one I got I thought was faulty, but the second still doesn't work, it'd transmitting some of the image on my phone but fuzzy and moving round the screen. I've played with all the settings of video output in the service menu and it still won't make it work, however one setting works a lot better thatbtye other (640x480 at 60refresh).

I read that there are different types of mhl cable however this one works when plugged straight into the back of a computer screen without the rca box.

What am.I.doing wrong, as some people can get these rca boxes to work...

Hope I explained that ok... Any help is massively appreciated. I can take pictures too

Composite AV input is always likely to be "crap". Especially when trying to display something requiring precision, like a computer monitor or phone screen. Something where you're viewing the whole screen, like a reversing camera shouldn't be a problem.

What Pioneer model is it? There may be an (expensive) add-on.

Sorry it's taken me a while to reply, tapatalk is down and I hadn't realised so no notification!

It's a pioneer avh-6600dvd, I only want to do it for the sat nav on my phone, as the pioneer sat nav add on will be outdated and I imagine hard to find now!

Thanks anyway, I will try some other alternatives if I find any!
