Refrofit an MFD2 in an A5 Octavia?

Featured Replies

Hi gents.

I am seriously considering the new Octi vRS, and would like to have the factory MFD2 Sat nav, but I am a bit put off that they fit the older CD-playing model in stead of the DVD-based system which is now fitted to the Golf mk5.

Does anyone know if it is possible to transplant a VW DVD-based MFD2 into the new Octi? If I ordered it with the base radio, what hardware would I need to successfully complete the transplant?

Hi m8, have a look at http://www.satnavsystems.com i purchased my MFD1 for my fabia from them to replace the CD player in it. They sell the items you want plus all the kit (MFD2) needed to fit it to the car @ only a snip of the price of factory fit. They are a helpful bunch so send them an email if you need anyhelp... be warned sometimes takes a while for them to reply.
