Aux input for Stream Mp3

Featured Replies

Dear all, i have the above system in my new car and would like an aux input for an Mp3 player. I've been told by the audio chap that i need a box of some sort and he will do that for 140, he then said for 180 i can have DAB and a USB port. Would that mean i can control the Mp 3 player from the car stereo? Also does this seem a fair price?

All you need is an Aux port (3.5mm) and some wire, a connector block and some time to fit it. There are kits out there and I'm sure Eddie-NL on here has had some for sale at some point.

A USB port will not allow control of your phone unless you use the MDI controller and loom. That can be had for about £100-150 and fitted yourself and brings a number of benefits over the Aux port.

You are after something like this kit. I know it is for a Golf, but it is basically the same as and Octavia.

Oh right, is that it? Why has he quoted £140+ then??

Thanks

You'll have to ask them.

They might be fitting a different kit (possibly a 'Connects 2' box) with more functionality.

If all you want is to plug an MP3 player in and play music then you only need something like the one I linked to.
