Amundsen + retrofit problems

Featured Replies

Hi I posted this i February and received no response. Can someone put me out of my misery? The unit came with Bluetooth and Dab but problems started when i switched the engine off, on start up it would randomly ask for a code. I had it looked at and a permanent live was rigged up, this did not solve the problem and furthermore the Cd player has packed up. When media is selected for Cd a message of No Medium available shows on the screen.

Once the code is inputted the unit works fine, Can someone advise me on whether it can be repaired or not. I've passed the point of filing a claim against the seller, and the Ebay/Paypal claims. In a sentence I'm up the proverbial creek.

Any response would be appreciated.

Hi try a cd cleaner disc just in case its a dirty laser, it should only ask for the code if power is disconnected,id also see if anyone has vcds in your area just in case of poss faulty codes or coding issue.

Hi thanks fore the reply but it won't accept any discs at all, it did when it was first installed then just stopped.

could be worth a go with VCDS, I helped someone last night having amundsen problems and clearing the fault codes seems to have done the trick

Hi thanks fore the reply but it won't accept any discs at all, it did when it was first installed then just stopped.

If this was posted to you by the seller it is poss the laser may have moved or worse, this is why i collected my columbus & when i sold my old amsunden plus i got the buyer to collect.

I doubt you will have much recall if the ebay transaction was back in February.

If it worked the first time it was probably a good working unit.

I would suspect domhnall's suggestion to be the way to go now.

Hi Guys thanks for the replies, gonna have my mate plug in the Vcds and see what it shows, As for the random code requests, I have had the local Auto Electricians suggest I check the car battery, then the key fob battery, failing that it could be a fault with the ignition?
