Applying Bilt Hamber Auto-QD

Featured Replies

Hi all,

This is my first post on Styling and Car Care.

Hoping someone can advise with Bilt Hamber QD - last week I washed the O3 and polished with R222 wax. Yesterday I washed it again and thought I would add a bit of shine with Bilt Hamber Auto-QD (100% neat for max gloss). The panels were ambient temp but the QD just smeared and I could not remove it (I was using a new microfibre that came with the QD). Has any had this, BH QD normal gets very good reviews and many say it is easy to apply.

Thank you in advance.

How much did you spray on each panel? More is less with these products.

Did you wipe onto the panel with one MF then buff with another?

As Coops rightly says..its needs applying very thinly and sparingly

Ive never seen the smearing you describe...Its a favourite of mine as well

If using neat, spray lightly onto a MF then apply and wipe off with the second

Thanks for the feedback.

I applied direct onto the panel, wiped it around with one MF and then tried buffing off with the BH supplied MF. I will try the less is more approach and spray it onto the MF next and see how it goes. Is it easier to buff to a shine if I dilute it slightly (say 10%)?

Would the application of R222 a week ago been an issue?

TBH Bilt Hamber do recommend a slight dilution, but Ive not found it necessary except when using it a s drying aid

Your R222 will not have been an issue as it will be fully cured by now
