I've been reading around various threads regarding what's possible to switch on/off my car. It's a 2008 VRS - are all these possible?

 

 

- Anti hi jack / auto lock when pulling away

 

- Open all doors on first click

 

- DRL fog lights 

 

- Single alarm beep on lock

 

- Passenger mirror reverse dip (this would be so handy for getting on my drive!)

 

- Permanent needle illumination (needles only, not the rest)

 

- Coming home lights (I don't have any auto lights)

 

 

 

Think that's it for now. If these are all possible, is there anyone in Ayrshire that's good with VCDS and wants a couple of beers?

If you have Maxidot, the first two are options, I think number 4 and 5 are as well, but I'm pretty sure you need auto lights for the last one, could be wrong though. DRL's need programming, afaik.

I don't have maxidot unfortunately. It's something I'd like so will keep an eye out for new clocks eventually.

Coming home lights I can live without if I can get the rest sorted I'll be more than happy - they'd probably annoy the neighbours in the winter as I reverse on the drive facing them!

Coming home lights does work on a car without auto lights, it does on my 2006 Octavia II ambiente.  I coded it through VCDS and you can set the coming home lights for as many seconds as you like in VCDS

I've finally had a play about using Carista.

Managed to get anti hijack and unlock all on 1 click - worth £15 for the app just for that tbh.

Haven't had much of a play with lights yet, will see if Scandinavian mode is available and fog option.

Got coming/leaving home lights working but only using headlights. As I've got Xenon's I switched it back off again as I doubt it's good to switch them on/off more than necessary. Will investigate again to see if I can make it use fogs or maybe just activate coming home when the lights would be on anyway and just delay their switch off.
