dear all,

 

got a 1.6 fsi classic, 55,000 miles now esp light came on with loss of power, for a short while, when stopped and switch back on light now out. how long does the engine management keep the fault code for, if the car is started and stopped again, in case of repeated problems.

 

going to take it out for a drive soon to see if it happens again. I imagine it went into crawl mode of some kind.

 

got home so haven't been out again.

I've had that happen to me, on two Octavia's i've owned, panicked the 1st time, 2nd time was less worried, on both cars it never happened again and it didn't show up on the fault codes
