Blower Fan

Featured Replies

On my mobile at least the GSF website doesn't let you view parts from links

I did this job about 2 and a half years ago. Bought the "premium" option from GSF, which turned out to be the same Valeo unit which was fitted at the factory. The Vetech they showed me didn't look much cop. When I get home later I will dig out the receipt for what I bought.

Does it work with the engine on at all speeds? When they start to fail they often won't start up at the lower speed, or do so noisily (mine had a weird ticking sound I recall, which almost went away at higher speed)

Link to my thoughts from the time:

There are those that claim it can be done without removing the airbag... I would respectfully call them vehicle butchers... :-p.

Thanks, I've popped out today and it blowing away with the engine off, nicely distributing the hot air around...

Generally, the fan seems to work as it should with the engine running on both low speed and high, not noticed any noises as such.

Maybe just a 'glitch'.

Not sure if there are any 'rules' as such, like the unit should be on when you turn the engine off to enable it to run. Never really noticed to be honest.

FYI, this is the one I bought:

I paid £104.22 about 2.5 years ago, probably with a code.  If you can get one of their 35% off codes I guess it would bring their current price down to less than £92.

You have to watch GSF though - I think their use of "premium" and "standard" verges on sharp practice at times.  I went to pick up my Bilstein shocks and they tried to give me a right old set of twoddle - "these are much better, mate" - had to get them to order in the correct ones from HQ.

Get to the shop and get them to show you what you're buying would be my advice.  You can still do click and collect to get the benefit of the internet pricing - you don't have to pay until you take it away with you.

Anyhow, hope you don't need it :)

Good advice, cheers for the link, and the 'heads up' with GSF!

All seems OK for now, I've bookmarked the link for future reference though!

As always, appreciate the guidance.
