Laptop Hard Drive Connector

Featured Replies

Although I'm pretty good at using computers, I'm a bit of a newbie when it comes to the 'inners' of them.

I hope someone can help, My laptop hard drive cable is frayed and come away from the connector (see pics below).

Can anyone help me with what my options are to fix?

Did you do that getting the SSD in? <nevermind...> Look on eBay or similar for a replacement cable. Learn how the connector releases its grip on the ribbon cable and how to reclamp it afterwards.

I bought the laptop off eBay and it was already like this (I was informed), so was looking how to fix it.
