Skoda Superb 2.0 TDI CR Engine problems

Recommended Posts

Skoda superb 2.0 TDI CR 140bhp 4x4

The problem with the car is, When you start the car from cold it sounds like it has no Oil in the engine, and remains like that for several miles, also the gears keep getting stuck in reverse and once taken out of reverse and put in to drive it jerks, like it just slipped. These issues are intermittent.

I was told to change the engine oil and filter, and was told to change the gear oil and filter. Which again to me was strange as the engine oil was just changed 3000 miles ago, but I didn't mind changing this. But the DSG oil and filter is recommend to be changed at 40k, my car has only done 19k. Now again I didn't mind but it was costing me quite a bit of money. I done both the things that I was told to, and the problems are still their.

So they said you have a faulty injector no:4 and faulty common rail, which then we replaced under skoda extended warranty, which hopefully I was wishing that the problem should be resolved. But surprise surprise it wasn't. Now its left the technicians without any ideas.

And Now skoda extended warranty will not continue with the work, unless i agree to pay the costs for further investigation if the problem is not covered under warranty.

Which to me is quite ludicrous, as the tests Skoda technicians have said to carry out, cost nearly £1000.00 which after all this the car may be still back to square one.

Ive been in touch with Skoda Executive office, and they said you would have to agree to pay for any work to continue.

Any ideas or help from anyone would be greatly appreciated.

There must be some detail missing here?

You have an official Skoda (extended) warranty?

The Skoda main dealer is in agreement that the car is faulty?

But Skoda UK / the Skoda dealer are asking you to pay?

I'd be dropping the car off with the dealer, jumping in a courtesy car and asking them to call you when it is fixed, for free, under warranty.

Assuming it was them that advised changing the engine oil and DSG oil prematurely which didn't fix the issue then I'd also be asking for a refund on this unnecessary work too.

Whats missing is,

that this has been going on for months on and off.

Now its come to a point ive had enough and left the car with them, and they've had it for nearly a month.

So they have spent a lot time on it, and the skoda warranty probably aint paying them for all the time they've spent, skoda warranty will only be paying for certain work carried out like, changing injectors and common rail.

They cant say to Skoda that its took us 10 hours to diagnose this issue and we want £90.00 an hour, cos it looks bad on there technicians. That it took him so long to find the fault, but still after all that the fault is still there.

Now, ive emailed Skoda CEO over this, and hes got Skoda Executive office to deal with (which i dont even know if they real give a ****)

If anyone has any advise please give us a shout.

I would also talk to private or smaller skoda specific service stations, maybe they hve some idea for the problem.

Or (i dont know what effect you would have on the costs) change the skoda service and bring the car to another one. Sometimes there are big difference between the workers...

Or ask direct factory support as it seems the dealer is incompetent.
