Brake pad warning light - intermittent ?

Featured Replies

Slightly strang, my brake pad warning light comes on occasionally.

It will just come on while I'm driving, the next time I get in the car nothing.... Then a few trips later it's back on?

There is plenty of meat on the pads so I'm not convinced it's a pad issue, but I'll probably be replacing them for something a little better in the next few weeks anyway.

Anyone else had the same issue.

The sensor is only on one pad, and if the caliper is sticky, it might have worn the inside pad on the FNS more than the rest.....

I had exactly this on another make of car and it was the insulation worn away on the sense wire. It made intermittent contact to the disc shield in my case.

Check the routing of the wire is correct and not touching anything.

Mine popped up on brand new pads. I don't think it's very reliable.

went away itself for me.

Hasn't come on for a few days, then all of a sudden it came on tonight after I went to the petrol station.

It never seems to come on mid journey, only on a new journey?

I'm gonna have the wheels off at the weekend (weather permitting) to have a look at the inside pad.
