Blackvue DR650GW Cameras.

Featured Replies

I want to fit a dual camera system to my Octavia Scout (MY16) and after a lot of research, I'm ready to go for the Blackvue DR650GW.

One of the negatives I've read is that this camera setup interferes with DAB radio, so, before I order, can anyone here comment on whether this is true and is there a fix?

Thanks,

I have the 650 fitted and only problem I get is the wifi not connecting sometimes but I think this is more down to the app rather than the camera, have a look on here might help you find the answer..

Thanks Andy.

I 'phoned Blackvue yesterday and spoke to an extremely helpful gentleman by the name of Nigel.

He did say I may have to wrap the rear camera connecting cable in tinfoil as they have experienced problems with this camera and DAB especially on BMWs but also on Skoda, VW, Audi and others with DAB.

He also said that if I encounter any problems during installation, I can call their engineers and they'd talk me through it ... so DR650GW and Power Magic Pro now ordered!

I have the 650 fitted, it does not interfere with DAB. But I have sent it back second time now because it started to make loud crackling noise. First time I sent it back rear camera stopped working. I've had it less than 3 months.

yea I had some teething problems after a couple of weeks camera freezing and rear camera not working all the time but I returned it and got a brand new one which I have had a good 6 months without any issues... expensive but worth it....

I am very impressed - camera delivered today!

Now, can anyone tell me how to get a permanent live feed and a switched feed from the ignition into the cockpit on my Octavia Scout (MY16) to wire up my Power Magic Pro?

Normally I don't have a problem with this kind of stuff, but I'm a bit wary of canbus stuff!

You won't get canbus error.

I meant the fuse panel behind glove box. I had to remove mine to get access.

I panic when I have to remove trim on my new car ... read the manual, removed the glove box, found the fuse panel and have ordered the piggy back holder off eBay - so far, it looks easy!  Thank you everyone for your help so far.

(Famous last words!)

Received new camera today GR650W, hopefully last longer than previous two.
