Hi all

I've had my Skoda Octavia 1.9TDI for 3 years now .

I have owned various makes of card over the years and this is my first Skoda

I have to say that this is the best and most reliable car I have ever owned

In the 3 years I've owned it I've driven over 32000 miles with numerous trips abroad including France, Belgium, Netherlands, Germany, Czech Republic and Poland.

I've kept up with servicing and the only major repairs have been new discs, tyres, Track rods and timing belt. All things that are due to normal wear.

I made a mistake of not checking the mileage of the timing belt when I bought it which turned out to be quite expensive

In Czech Republic my son and I visited the Skoda factory and museum and after a tour we were very impressed.

If I can fine one which is affordable I'm more or less decided that my next car will be a Skoda Yeti

My 19 year old son now has a driving license and bought an Octavia 1.9 TDI similar to mine and same year. His insurance for a young driver actually worked out to be a lot cheaper than a smaller car such as a Ford Fiesta or Vauxhall Corsa.

I'm happy to have finally found a forum for Skoda cars
