ET35 18" wheels with stock suspension

Featured Replies

Hi guys,

I'm looking at a nice set of stock size 18" wheels for my summer tyres but they are ET35.

I have a 59 plate Mk2 FL TDI CR VRS.

I have read that people don't recommend anything lower than ET45 but I'm on stock suspension and won't be changing and I run stock size tyres.

Do you think I'll have an issues such as them really sticking out too much or rubbing if I chose to put the car on lowering springs?

Does anyone have any photos of ET35 wheels on the Mk2 VRS?

Thanks

ET is pointless unless you know the width of the rim.  eg an 8" ET35 sticks out 1/2" more than a 7" ET35.

What is your vRS running at the moment?  18x7.5 ET50?  An 18x7.5 ET35 will have 15mm more poke.  How much room have you got?

Here are some 17x8 ET35 - you can see there's a bit of excess poke at the front - about 6mm.  That's on tractor spec Elegance springs
